The past couple of weeks have been quite busy, hence why this blog has not been updated for a while. I won’t go into day-by-day detail (because that would take quite some time) but I will offer a short summary. The students took a pre-test over English Language Arts concepts (grammar and writing) as well as one over Reading concepts. I have been using this data to drive the lessons for the past two weeks by choosing the weakest skill in ELA and in Reading as the skills of focus each week. Last week we focused on prepositions, prepositional phrases, objects of the preposition, and point of view. This week we have focused upon subject-verb agreement and topic sentences.
PowerPoints:
- The Objects of Prepositions 2.6.13
- View Master 2.7.13
- Point of View 2.5.13
- Assessment Day 2.8.13
- Subject-Verb Agreement 2.11.13
- Topic Sentences 2.12.13
- Synthesis 2.13.13
